This is not a joke. Oklahoma lawmakers just passed a bill to revoke the medical licenses of any and all doctors who perform abortions.

Safe, legal abortions. It not only would strip doctors of their medical license, but also would and jail them if they performed a safe, legal abortion.

Help fight back

The bill now heads to the governor's desk — the same governor who tripled the forced delay for obtaining an abortion, who signed restrictions on medication abortion, AND who signed a Texas-style law designed to shut down health centers.

“This is a ban on abortion, plain and simple.

Punishing doctors for performing a legal, medical procedure is an assault on women.

As a health care provider, we have seen the very real and very disastrous impact these bills have on women's lives. Women are forced to drive hundreds of miles, and across state lines. Americans overwhelmingly disapprove of this extreme agenda.”

—Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America

This isn’t even the only outrageous bill in the state: The Oklahoma legislature is pushing at least two more bills that would restrict access to care for women.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma is already one of the worst states for women's health. More than half of women in Oklahoma live in a county without a single abortion provider.

Women’s Health and Rights are Under Attack Across the Country, and Oklahoma is Just the Latest

This isn't just about how bad things are for Oklahoma women. Gynoticians are doing everything they can to take away women's access to abortion and other reproductive health care in state after state:

  • In Texas, some women have no choice but to travel hundreds of miles from home just to access safe, legal abortion.

  • In Ohio, the governor signed a bill that will cut women off from lifesaving cancer screenings.

  • In Florida, extreme lawmakers passed a bill that blocks access to STI screenings and treatment, cancer screenings, and birth control.

  • In Louisiana, legislators have introduced a bill that would prevent any health care facility that provides abortions from receiving funding through the state.

  • Across the country, more than half a million people are at risk of losing access to basic health care — because of attacks targeting women.

These attacks on women are purely political. They are the intended result of deliberate lies and false accusations stemming from faked videos that have since been completely discredited, their creators indicted. No matter how false their origins, these dangerous bills are having a devastatingly real impact on the everyday people who depend on Planned Parenthood health centers for birth control, cancer screenings, STD testing, sex ed programs, and more.
