Since Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger coined the term "birth control" in 1914, contraception has truly revolutionized women's lives in the United States, and around the world. This timeline begins that year and ends 100 years later in 2014, as 99 percent of sexually active women report using at least one form of birth control at some point in their lives.
