Washington, DC – On the heels of Mitt Romney’s leaked 47 percent remark, Planned Parenthood Action Fund is out today with “ASK MITT” – its newest online campaign tool designed to hold the nominee accountable and demand explanations for his out-of-touch policy positions that would have a disastrous effect on women and middle-class families. The tool provides a platform for users to submit and tweet questions for Romney in advance of the first Presidential debate on domestic policy in Denver on October 3.

The goal is to generate enough online buzz so that Romney, who has recently avoided explaining his stance on the issues that affect women's health, is forced to answer for his record and agenda during the debate.

You can view the tool here: www.Ask-Mitt.com

The tool is part of the organization’s Women are Watching 2012 election campaign to educate voters about Mitt Romney’s dangerous agenda for women and to hold him accountable on issues of importance to women and their health, including his intent to repeal Obamacare, his promise to end the Title X family planning program, his stance to end safe and legal abortion by overturning Roe v. Wade, and his pledge to “get rid of” Planned Parenthood.

Some questions include:
• To @MittRomney: If you "get rid of" Planned Parenthood, what's the plan for the 3MM people who receive health care there? #ASKMITT
• To @MittRomney: Why end Title X family planning for 5 million people when every $1 invested saves $3.74 for taxpayers? #ASKMITT
• To @MittRomney: If you repeal Obamacare, what happens to the 45MM women who would lose preventive health care w/ no co-pays? #ASKMITT

“Mitt Romney’s agenda for women’s health is dangerous and out of touch – and he knows it.  Why else would he be ducking these issues recently, refusing to discuss his record or his women’s health agenda?  We can't let him get away with it,” said Dawn Laguens, executive vice president, Planned Parenthood Action Fund.  “From now until Election Day, we’re urging supporters of Planned Parenthood and women’s health to hold Mitt Romney accountable and demand answers.”

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have vowed to overturn Roe v. Wade and end safe and legal abortion; have said they support extreme “personhood” measures that would give full constitutional rights to fertilized eggs; would defund Planned Parenthood, cutting off women’s access to preventive care, including cancer screenings and birth control; and have promised to shut down the nation’s family planning program that more than five million people a year rely on for birth control, cancer screenings, and other care.

Women are Watching is Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s 2012 campaign to educate women across the country about the unprecedented attacks on women’s health and where candidates stand on pivotal health care issues, empower women to hold anti-women’s health candidates of either party accountable, and work to elect pro-women’s health candidates up and down the ballot.
