Behind every number is a human face. Behind every spreadsheet is a mother, a daughter, a family who might have gone without treatment for a disease or would have experienced an unplanned pregnancy if it hadn’t been for the doctors and nurses of Planned Parenthood in their community. Planned Parenthood patients across the country have written in to share their stories about how their lives have been changed — sometimes even saved — by a visit to a Planned Parenthood health center.

One in five women in the United States has received care from Planned Parenthood at some time in her life. These are the stories of those women. This state-by-state review of a selection of those personal stories reveals just how deeply Planned Parenthood’s work touches people from every walk of life. These are real stories — submitted online by real patients in their own words — as a testament to the essential role Planned Parenthood plays in the health this nation.

They are sending undercover film crews into Planned Parenthood health centers to secretly tape our doctors, nurses, and other staff. They are spreading lies about who we are and what we do.
