Two political and advocacy groups came together to launch the “Worst for Women” campaign calling out fifteen sitting members of Congress who have terrible voting records on key issues that affect women, like health care and reproductive rights. Out of 535 members of Congress, Rep. Jason Lewis from Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District, made the list of just fifteen.
Statement from Tim Stanley, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota Action Fund:
“It’s no surprise to see Rep. Jason Lewis on the ‘Worst for Women’ list. He voted multiple times to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which has brought Minnesota’s uninsured rate to an all-time low–and he’s consistently made demeaning remarks about women. He has even called women ‘non-thinking’ for wanting health insurance for birth control. He is bad for Minnesota and it is crucial to replace him with a lawmaker who will protect health care and reproductive rights in the upcoming election.”
