Update from Missouri's Planned Parenthood Affiliates

Both Planned Parenthood Great Plains and Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri are now offering virtual appointments. PPGP and PPSLRSWMO are continuing to put patient and staff safety first by limiting the need for in-person visits. You can schedule your telehealth appointment online now!

PPGP and PPSLRSWMO have also launched the Planned Parenthood Direct app, where you can use your phone to get birth control for a flat fee that's less than most copays, and works even if you are uninsured. Check it out today!

MoLeg Update: Returning to the Capitol and Ignoring Voters’ Will

Following a weeks-long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Republican leaders have announced that the 2020 legislative session will resume on Monday, April 27 — even though the statewide stay-at-home order will still be in place. While the annual budget is the only measure the General Assembly must pass, some lawmakers want to spend limited legislative time to pass a gerrymandering scheme that will rig maps to protect politicians.

This is exactly the opposite of what more than 60% of Missouri voters decided in 2018. Voters were clear that they wanted fair maps and a legislature that’s more responsive to the people. Time is running out for lobbyists and politicians to set things up for gerrymandered maps for the next decade — and they’re pushing to do just that, even if it means disregarding voters’ will.

Tell your legislators to spend their time on COVID-19 when they go back to the Capitol — not attacking fair maps and ignoring the will of the people.

Abortion License Decision Imminent: Sign Up to Get The Alert

Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region (RHS) is Missouri's only health center licensed to provide abortion — and it has been under relentless political attack.

Last year, just days after he signed an extreme abortion ban — which has been blocked by a federal court — Gov. Mike Parson weaponized the state health department to block RHS' license to provide abortion. Missourians across the state were outraged, and RHS sued to protect its license.

After a lengthy legal battle, we are expecting a ruling any day. When the ruling comes, we want supporters to know as soon as possible — that's why we're planning ahead. Sign up to get an update as soon as we have the decision!

Virtual Watch Party: Mrs. America

Social distancing is a challenge for many of us, and it's important to still stay connected! Let's come together — remotely — to watch and discuss Mrs. America, the story of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), and the opposition led by a conservative woman named Phyllis Schlafly.

Sign up to join Planned Parenthood for a virtual watch party on Tuesday, April 28 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. All you need is a computer or smartphone! Once you sign up, we’ll share instructions on downloading Kast, a co-watching platform, with a link to the party prior to the event.
