South Carolina's House Bill 4624 is a dangerous, discriminatory piece of legislation that would ban gender-affirming health care for anyone under 18, including reversible hormone therapy and puberty blockers.
This bill also requires school officials to “out” students who are curious about or questioning their gender to their parents, potentially before they are ready to share. LGBTQ+ students especially need access to safe and supportive spaces at school if they aren’t able to be open about their identities at home. Students should never fear being outed by educators or be denied care when seeking help. It is cruel and demoralizing to deny trans and queer students the right to be seen and respected.
This bill already passed the House, and it's moving fast.
Call your state senator now and urge them to vote NO on H.B. 4624.
