Welcome to “The Quickie”

Welcome to “The Quickie” — Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s daily tipsheet on the top health care & reproductive rights stories of the day. You can read “The Quickie'' online here.

In today’s Quickie: Studies used in mifepristone case ruling retracted for lack of scientific rigor.

LIKE WE KEEP SAYING, MEDICATION ABORTION IS EXTREMELY SAFE AND EFFECTIVE: Yesterday, Sage, an academic publisher, retracted studies abortion opponents relied on in their efforts to end the FDA’s approval of mifepristone — one of two drugs used in a medication abortion — in the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. U.S. Food and Drug Administration case, which is before the Supreme Court. As States Newsroom reports, the retractions stem from undeclared conflicts of interest and “lack of scientific rigor,” according to Sage.

It’s almost like…the science on mifepristone is clear: it’s safe and effective. Shocking.
