Cecile Richards Discusses Birth Control and the Supreme Court with MSNBC’s Alex Wagner

Last week, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor temporarily blocked implementation of the Affordable Care Act’s birth control benefit requirement as applied to religiously affiliated organizations. This dispute is not about whether or not churches and places of worship are exempt from covering birth control (they already are), but rather about how religiously affiliated organizations can choose to “opt out” of the requirement.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America President, Cecile Richards, joined NOW with Alex Wagner yesterday to discuss this recent turn of events, and the bigger issue that will be before the Supreme Court this spring: whether bosses at for-profit companies can deny their employees access to birth control.
