Yesterday, a clip was released of Florida Governor Scott getting publicly shamed by a woman in Starbucks for blocking access to care at Planned Parenthood, in addition to cutting other critical health services.

“You don’t care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here,” she said, before Scott slinked out without his coffee.

This comes less than two weeks after Scott signed a bill to block care at Planned Parenthood through Title X and other critical programs.

“Women across the country have been giving their Governors and anti-abortion politicians an earful for months, this is the latest.

If Governor Scott thought he could quietly block birth control, cancer screenings, and other care at Planned Parenthood, he was wrong.

In Ohio, the backlash was severe as women called out ‘Dr. Kasich’ for cutting their care. Clearly, people are fed up. Similar political attacks in Missouri, Arizona and across the country are decimating access to health care. Unsurprisingly, these are the very same politicians who have opposed the ACA, and worked to roll back women’s insurance coverage for birth control.”

ICYMI: NY Mag: Hero Woman Sees Florida Governor Rick Scott at Starbucks, Calls Him Out for Defunding Planned Parenthood

“When Florida governor Rick Scott wanted coffee on Tuesday, he walked into the wrong Gainesville Starbucks. A video uploaded to YouTube shows a woman ripping into the governor for cutting Medicaid and signing a bill to defund Planned Parenthood.

The clip begins with the woman, who later identified herself as Cara Jennings, telling Scott that his cuts meant she couldn't get Obamacare. 'You're an asshole. You don't care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.'

As he starts to walk away from the counter, Jennings goes harder. ‘You stripped women of access to public health care. Shame on you, Rick Scott. We depend on those services. Rich people like you don’t know what to do. When poorer people like us need services you cut them. Shame on you Rick Scott! You’re an embarrassment to our state!’”

Governor Scott left Starbucks without his latte.”
