Republican lawmakers have relentlessly tried to repeal Obamacare — despite the fact that the health care law has already helped millions of women and families get the care they need, when they need it. Opponents of the law don’t care that you can no longer be denied insurance coverage because of a pre-existing condition, that women can’t be charged higher premiums simply because of their gender, and that you can now access birth control with no co-pay — they outright oppose the birth control benefit. Their intractable opposition has led them to vote to repeal the law 40 times (yes you read that right). Meanwhile, the latest polling shows that Americans want Congress to improve the law.

These politicians will do anything to delay and derail this historic step forward for health care. The conservative organization FreedomWorks is even urging people to burn fictional “Obamacare Insurance Cards” in protest. As a spokesman from Protect Your Care said, "They're asking people literally to play with fire and burn Obamacare documents while at the same time telling these very same people that they shouldn't have health care.” And to add to this, Texas Senator Ted Cruz is actually going on a 10-day “Defund Obamacare Tour” to spread misinformation over the August recess: "My focus for the next 61 days is very directly targeted to one thing, and that is working to defund Obamacare.”

But we know the truth. Obamacare means better health care for those who have it, new health care for many who don’t, and big benefits for women and young people. Don’t let these anti-women’s health lawmakers have the last word. Tell us how Obamacare is working for you, click here to share your story.
