UPDATED March 17, 2015: Thanks to the help of 26,891 supporters, we've temporarily stopped the Senate from passing the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act with a harmful anti-abortion measure. But the senators behind this attack have said they won't back down. Help us fight back.
A group of senators is twisting a bill meant to protect victims of human trafficking into yet another attack on abortion access. They simply can’t sink any lower.
It’s despicable, and we have just hours to stop them. Act now: Tell your senators to vote NO on this disturbing political attack.
These politicians are so out of touch, so blinded by their ideology, that they’ll use absolutely anything as a weapon against women seeking abortion — including human trafficking victims. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) has taken a bipartisan bill to expand protections for victims of human trafficking, and inserted language to withhold funding for safe, legal abortion.
The majority of human trafficking victims are women and girls, and they need access to the full range of reproductive health care services without barriers. Bottom line: Victims deserve care — not political attacks.
Tell the Senate: Stop playing politics with human trafficking victims.
