Neil Gorsuch has an alarming history of interfering with reproductive rights and health.
Our rights, our freedom, our health, our future — President Donald Trump nominated conservative Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Ruled against women’s access to contraception and in favor of the idea that corporations are people
Sided with politicians trying to deny women and men access to basic health care, like STD tests and reproductive health education services, provided by Planned Parenthood health centers
Been highly critical of LGBTQ advocates and others who turn to the courts to protect their constitutional rights
The Supreme Court is the last line of defense for safe and legal abortion in this country. With reproductive rights under assault like never before, we have a simple message for Trump, Gorsuch, and every single senator who will vote on his confirmation: No Roe, No Go.
We have a message for members of the Senate on Judge Gorsuch: Opposing Roe v Wade is a disqualifier.
The right to safe and legal abortion has been the law of the land for more than 40 years, and is a part of the fabric of this country. Nominees to the highest court in the land must make clear that they will protect our fundamental rights — including the right of a woman to control her body.— Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood of America
The next Supreme Court justice will rule on cases that strike at the very heart of who we are as a country.
Supreme Court will be the last line of defense when the president acts recklessly to target immigrants, refugees, Muslims, and people of color. They will have the duty of safeguarding the civil rights, equality, and dignity for all. They will either be the one to uphold Roe v. Wade, protecting the right of every woman to decide when and whether to bear children — or they will be responsible for dismantling our most fundamental rights.
Donald Trump’s nominee, Neil Gorsuch, has an alarming history of interfering with reproductive rights and health.
He ruled that bosses should be able to deny women access to birth control coverage.
Before Judge Gorsuch is allowed anywhere near the Supreme Court bench, he must commit to upholding Roe v. Wade and defending access to safe and legal abortion.
In just a handful of days this administration has attacked access to reproductive care, sound science, and the safety and freedom of countless refugees and Muslims — in most cases, with little more than a stroke of the pen in the Oval Office. Planned Parenthood is not about to let them turn the Supreme Court into another means of stripping away our fundamental rights.
Tell your senators: Confront Gorsuch on his anti-women’s health record. Demand that he clearly and directly affirm his support for Roe v. Wade. And if he won’t, keep him off the Supreme Court no matter what it takes.
There has never been a more important Supreme Court nomination. It has become crystal clear that the courts are going to be the last — and sometimes only — line of defense against dangerous and unconstitutional attacks on basic rights. At risk is a woman’s right to control her own body and access health care, the right to vote, and the right of all people in this country to be free from discrimination based on who they love, where they come from, their race, and their religious beliefs. Planned Parenthood calls on every United States senator to uphold a fundamental standard: If you oppose Roe v. Wade and women’s access to basic health care, you are not qualified to sit on the Supreme Court of the United States.
