Washington DC – Hoy, pese a que información nueva muestra que la gente sigue indignada por la disposición de la Corte Suprema de anular el derecho federal al aborto, el Comité Nacional Republicano (RNC por sus siglas en inglés) aprobó una resolución para “ir a la ofensiva en el ciclo electoral de 2024” sobre el aborto y “aprobar la legislación pro-vida más fuerte posible”. Jenny Lawson, directora ejecutiva de Planned Parenthood Votes, respondió a esta agenda extrema: 

“¿Cuándo aprenderán? En 2022, los votantes rechazamos rotundamente a los políticos antiabortistas y dejamos en claro que no queremos que los legisladores controlen nuestros cuerpos. Sin embargo, la respuesta del RNC es redoblar esfuerzos y convertir la prohibición nacional del aborto en parte de la plataforma del partido. Todos los candidatos serán responsables de esta agenda que está fuera de la realidad: las organizaciones políticas y de defensa de Planned Parenthood se asegurarán de ello”.
