Statement from Jenny Lawson, executive director, Planned Parenthood Votes:
“Voters know what’s at stake in this election and are motivated to get out and vote. Our access to safe, legal abortion, health care, and control over our bodies and futures are on the line. For so many of us, this election is personal. We’re voting for the America we want to live in — one that’s equitable and where everyone has access to reproductive freedom. For too long, politicians have ignored their constituents — deciding to put our health and rights at risk. But this November, we decide.”
The new ads will run in five key states: North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Montana, Georgia, and Florida. The campaign is part of Planned Parenthood Votes' “We Decide 2020” electoral program — Planned Parenthood's advocacy and political organizations’ largest electoral program ever, with a historic investment of at least $45 million in key battleground states during the 2020 cycle.
We believe in the power of the people, because it’s by the people, for the people.
El poder esta con la gente.
If this election feels personal, it’s because it is.
“I vote to control my health, my body, and my future.”
“I vote for access to safe and legal abortion.”
We all know the stakes.
When we see injustice, we don’t sit by.
“I want to live in a country where everyone’s rights are protected, regardless of who they are, what they look like, or where they come from.”
We are prepared to protect our rights. To lift our voices.
“Because we are all connected”
And we will rise to the challenge.
“Vote your conscience. Vote your heart. But vote.”
The hope, the answer, the choice, is in all of us.
Together, we decide.
