Statement from Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates Executive Director, Laura Goodhue on today’s rejection of Proposal 22 by the Florida Constitution Revision Commission’s Judicial Committee:

“As held by the Florida Supreme Court, the explicit privacy right includes the right to decide whether to continue a pregnancy or have an abortion.

“There is nothing more fundamental to a woman’s private life than the right to decide the most intimate, personal and difficult decision of whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term.

“By rejecting Proposal 22, the CRC’s Judicial Committee did the right thing. We stand in solidarity with the commissioners who voted to preserve this fundamental right for Florida women.”
