TRENTON, NJ - Moments ago, Governor Phil Murphy joined legislative leaders and advocates from across New Jersey to announce support for forthcoming legislation that expands access to abortion care in New Jersey. This legislation follows January’s passage of the Freedom of Reproductive Choice Act, which codified the right to abortion into New Jersey state law.

From Kaitlyn Wojtowicz, Vice President of Public Affairs, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey:

"Rights, without access, are meaningless. While our right to abortion in New Jersey is protected, there are already too many who face insurmountable barriers to get the care they need. These barriers exist, and have existed, long before any leaks from the Supreme Court.

"We commend Governor Murphy and the legislators who stood by his side today as they announced their commitment and intention to meaningfully break down those barriers and expand access. We share the same goal: to ensure that every New Jerseyan - regardless of income, insurance coverage, or immigration status - can access the care they need to make their own personal decisions about their bodies and their lives."
