PPGA President Wins Invencible Leader of the Year Award

Jazmyn Horton-Alvarado, President of PPGA of San Diego State University, Imperial Valley Campus, was recently awarded Planned Parenthood's 3rd Annual Invencible Generation Action Leader of the Year Award. The award was created to honor powerful Planned Parenthood Latinx leaders for their contributions to reproductive health, rights, and justice.

Jazmyn has a long record of student leadership, promoting health care access, and being involved in her campus community. Recently, she started the San Diego State University, Imperial Valley Campus chapter of Planned Parenthood Generation Action and recruited 10 student members and two faculty members as advisors. She also started a chapter of the Students of Social Work Association at her campus.

In addition to her work with PPGA, Jazmyn is also a brand ambassador for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest. She has shared her patient story to ensure other people feel comfortable getting care at Planned Parenthood, to educate her community about the work Planned Parenthood does, and to inform legislators about the critical role Planned Parenthood plays in keeping our communities healthy.

We are so proud of Jazmyn’s accomplishments and look forward to continuing our work together to ensure all people have access to the high-quality health care they need.
