This year, Hoosiers fought to save health care not once, not twice — but three times.
Why? Because Hoosiers know that Planned Parenthood plays an indispensable role in serving patients that rely on the public health safety net in Indiana.
Under Trumpcare, 9,800 Hoosiers per year would have been blocked from using Medicaid at Planned Parenthood health centers for services like birth control, cancer screenings, and STD testing and treatment.
That’s why you — and hundreds of other Planned Parenthood supporters in Indiana — have fought Trumpcare since day one. Because of your tremendous grassroots efforts, Hoosiers can continue to access comprehensive, non-judgmental health care at Planned Parenthood in Indiana.
Let’s take a look at the amazing work you did across the state to take down Trumpcare this year.
In Evansville, you engaged early and often by showing up at Rep. Buschon’s town halls and meeting with Senator Young’s staff to let them know that Hoosiers rely on Planned Parenthood for their care.
In Merrillville, dozens of you shared your stories and lit the sky pink to shine a light on how dangerous Trumpcare is for Hoosiers. Then you proceeded to make calls, make office visits, and persist throughout the summer to defeat Trumpcare 2.0.
In Muncie, you organized a local Community Action Board and told Senator Young loud and clear that your community stands with Planned Parenthood.
In Indianapolis, you met with Rep. Brooks throughout the year to make it clear that you were in this fight until the end. Week in and week out, you were at her office, demanding that she do the right thing and protect Hoosiers’ access to health care and Planned Parenthood.
In Mishawaka, you continued to make your presence known at Rep.Walorski’s office time and time again even though she continues to refuse requests for a town hall on health care.
So to all Planned Parenthood supporters in Indiana: Thank you. We could not have done this without you. Keep up the fight!
