Organization: Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky (PPINK)

Position: Health Center Advocacy Program (HCAP) Intern

Reports to: Tamarri Wieder, Public Affairs and Policy Director

Locations: Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week

Start Date: Immediate 

PPINK is seeking highly motivated individuals to become Health Center Advocacy Interns. HCAP is designed to connect our work in the community and our state capitols to our work in health centers. HCAP provides our patients with opportunities to become advocates for themselves, their health, and their communities. Interns will work closely with Policy Staff to develop advocacy campaigns, improve trainings, and work with health center staff and patients to assess needs within a health center and the local area.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Working within health center to promote and explain advocacy campaign to patients Working closely with staff and other interns to staff outreach events
  • Participating  in outreach events
  • Follow-up with individuals and organizations to set-up outreach activities Tracking and Reporting on outreach activities
  • Attending trainings and events pertinent to the internship role and PP’s larger mission


Required Skills:

  • Experience with Word, Excel, and social media
  • Open-minded and culturally sensitive
  • Highly organized with close attention to detail
  • Commitment to follow-through and completion of  projects
  • Familiarity with Planned Parenthood’s mission and ability to promote it to the public

  • Good judgment and creativity
