Abortion is on the ballot.

We are fighting for a future with full reproductive freedom for all—no matter who you are, where you live, or how much you make. We believe no one is free until we all control our own bodies, lives, and futures. That’s why Planned Parenthood Advocates of Iowa PAC will do everything in our power to get voters to send champions for sexual and reproductive health to office at every level of government.

Make a plan to elect Planned Parenthood champions up and down the ballot.

Laura Snider for House District 28

Laura Snider is a mom, wife, attorney, author, and candidate for Iowa House District 28. Laura has a background working as both a Public Defender and a prosecutor. She brings a wealth of experience in community service and advocacy to her campaign and a strong commitment to education, health care, and reproductive freedom. Laura believes “protecting bodily autonomy and reproductive rights is essential for ensuring the fundamental freedoms and rights of individuals. At its core, the right to make decisions about one's own body is a cornerstone of personal liberty and dignity. Decisions that should be made between a woman and her doctor are now being made in the state house. It's all politics, and Iowans deserve better than that, for the health and wellbeing of our communities.” 1

We Decide with Our Vote

For politicians who want to ban all abortions, the near-total abortion ban passed during an unprecedented, one-day special session was just a warm-up lap. The end goal has always been full control of our bodies and our medical decisions. But we decide our futures, not out-of-touch politicians.  They’re hellbent on taking away our power to control our bodies, lives, and futures.

All the freedoms we’ve fought for are on the line this year, and WE DECIDE what comes next. At no point during pregnancy are politicians more qualified to make personal medical decisions than a patient and their doctor. We are fighting to elect unapologetic supporters of reproductive freedom, up and down the ballot, who are with us and unafraid to boldly represent the growing majority of Iowans who support safe and legal abortion. We demand the power to decide what’s best for our bodies, our lives, and our futures.

David Young is an extreme anti-choice politician who supports further legislation to strip Iowans of their freedom. He supports “life at conception” legislation that would put invitro fertilization (IVF) and contraception at risk.1 He already voted for a bill that used the same language as the legislation that put IVF in danger in Alabama. 2 David Young voted for a near-total abortion ban that outlaws abortion as early as six weeks, before most people even know they are pregnant.3 He voted against protecting children 12 and younger from being forced to carry pregnancies to term and rejected amendments to clarify medical exceptions that would protect doctors for providing life-saving care.4

Senator Sarah Trone Garriott for Senate District 14

Senator Sarah Trone Garriott

Senator Sarah Trone Garriott is a dedicated public servant and is running for re-election for Iowa Senate District 14. Before she was elected, Sarah was fighting against an extreme abortion ban at the Capitol when she learned her Senator didn’t understand the impact of proposed abortion restrictions. That is when she decided to run. She has since been a fierce leader on reproductive freedom in the Iowa Senate. Sarah has championed working families by advocating for public schools, quality and accessible health care, economic opportunity, and civil rights. She has sponsored legislation for paid family leave, the right to contraception, and affordable childcare.1  Senator Trone Garriott “trust[s] Iowans to make their own choices about their bodies and their own futures. Politicians have no business in the doctor’s office interfering with private medical decisions” 2
