As bad as the situation is currently, lawmakers in the Ohio General Assembly continue to introduce legislation that would look to close all centers that offer abortion services.
Last year, the assembly fast-tracked the 6-week and 20-week abortion bans. Both of these bills were presented to Governor Kasich for his signature. While he vetoed the 6-week ban, he did sign the 20-week ban into law.
The bottom line is that a woman, not politicians, should make the informed decisions when it comes to her own pregnancy. Women don’t turn to politicians for advice about mammograms, prenatal care, or cancer treatments. Politicians should not be involved in a woman’s personal medical decisions about her pregnancy.
