Senator Joe Morrissey Keeps Trying to Interfere in your Reproductive Health Care Decisions
Top three reasons why Morrissey can’t be trusted to protect reproductive rights:
- He voted against the Reproductive Health Protection Act (RHPA) in 2020, legislation that removed onerous abortion restrictions such as a mandatory 24-hour delay, mandatory ultrasound and targeted restrictions on abortion providers.
- He co-sponsored an abortion ban with Senator Amanda Chase in the 2022 Legislative Session.
- In 2023, when given the opportunity to protect reproductive freedom, he did not vote. He was the ONLY Democratic Senator to not support a constitutional amendment to protect reproductive freedom.

“But on the issue of abortion, Morrissey, a Roman Catholic, finds himself more aligned with Republicans. He has said he would consider limits on abortions, perhaps after 20 weeks – about five months. That aligns with what Gov. Glenn Youngkin has proposed. - VA Mercury
