The Democratic Caucus plans to introduce this year's version of the Add the Words bill. This bill adds “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to the Idaho Human Rights Act. Several conservative legislators are working on a so-called “compromise” bill, which will likely exclude important public accommodation protections. We are prepared to fight for the strongest possible protections for LGBTQ Idahoans.

We held a press conference on Friday for the proposed 12 Months of Birth Control legislation that we hope to see introduced soon. The press conference featured Mistie, our Idaho Public Affairs Manager and Legislative Director, alongside the co-sponsors, Sen. Cherie Buckner-Webb and Rep. Melissa Wintrow, clergy, and patients. We had a great showing of support from activists and legislators alike!

Surprisingly, so far no anti-women’s health bills have been introduced. However, two legislators have spoken publicly about bringing back the so-called “Abortion Reversal” bill. Rep. Crane, a staunch Planned Parenthood opponent, has continued the narrative that this will be “their year” to advance anti-choice, anti-Planned Parenthood bills.
