Planned Parenthood Reacts to Gov. Little Signing HB 71
For Immediate Release: April 5, 2023
BOISE, ID — Last night, in complete disregard for the thousands who reached out to him to stop this, Governor Little signed HB 71 into Idaho law, banning medically necessary, lifesaving care for transgender youth – care that the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, and other leading medical authorities have said is essential for some youth.
Statement from Mistie DelliCarpini-Tolman, Idaho State Director of Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates
“My heart breaks to think of the message that HB 71 and Idaho lawmakers are sending to LGBTQ+ Idahoans with this hateful law, so let me send one that I hope will come through louder: you are loved, you are worthy, you deserve joy. We stand with our trans community and will fight this with everything we’ve got.”
