Something big is going on in northeast Oklahoma. Do you remember Senator Nathan Dahm? Dahm is the “gynotician” who tried (and failed) to criminalize abortion providers in Oklahoma for providing compassionate care to the thousands of Oklahomans who will get an abortion every year. Although his bill was surprisingly vetoed by Oklahoma’s pro-life Governor Mary Fallin, Dahm promised to bring another similar bill to the Senate floor next session.
That’s part of the reason why Planned Parenthood Great Plains Votes endorsed Dahm’s opponent, Kimberly Fobbs, for Senate District 33. Kimberly is a small business owner, former Fortune 100 insurance company executive and a real firebrand. She is 100% behind the issues important to Planned Parenthood Great Plains Votes and we jumped at the opportunity to endorse her.
That’s right. The Tulsa World went as far to call Kimberly, “one of the brightest candidates for the Oklahoma Legislature that we’ve met in years.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Kimberly Fobbs is exactly who Senate District 33 and Oklahomans deserve at the capitol. She is smart, prepared and willing to fight for justice: we can’t wait to see her sworn in.
The Tulsa World could have stopped after dumping compliment after compliment on Fobbs but they truly leaned in on Nathan Dahm saying, “Dahm is an ideologue of the worst sort,” continuing, “Dahm is an extremist, and we don’t think he speaks for the people of southeast Tulsa County.” It can’t be any more clear, Oklahomans from all sides of the political spectrum are tired of the politics and tired of politicians getting in between people and their doctor.
