With the global pandemic and resulting economic collapse, more and more of Illinois’ citizens are turning to health and human services for help. Please help us protect Illinois' social safety net and ensure it is a top priority in the FY22 state budget.
During the past year, Illinois family planning providers—including Planned Parenthood of Illinois—lost Federal funding. Still, they have done their best to continue to provide care to low income and uninsured patients. This is not sustainable in the long term, especially with the economic challenges brought by COVID-19.
In the coming year, we expect more people to be in need of essential reproductive health care from family planning providers like Planned Parenthood.
If the Illinois Family Planning Program is not fully funded in FY22, thousands of Illinoisans are at risk of losing access to essential reproductive health care.
