We are deeply disappointed the Senate failed to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), a bill that had broad support among voters nationwide. Despite the Senate’s failure to pass it, we offer our gratitude to Illinois Senators Richard Durbin and Tammy Duckworth for consistently supporting reproductive rights, including today’s votes in support of WHPA.

Because of their hard work and dedication, public and charter schools will have clear guidelines and standards for providing medically-accurate and age-appropriate personal health and safety education in grades K through 5 and comprehensive sexual health education in grades 6 through 12.
