A draft U.S. Supreme Court majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization was leaked on May 2, 2022. The draft explicitly calls for Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey to be overruled, obliterating federal protections for abortion.

Abortion is still legal today, but the leak from the Supreme Court makes it clear that our deepest fears are coming true: the Court seems prepared to end the constitutional right to abortion.

We are facing a future where individual states have the power to legislate and restrict abortion. While Minnesota currently has state protections for abortion access, legislators have been introducing bills that would significantly restrict access if passed.

May 14 is a day of action for those in support of reproductive rights. You can take part by attending our in-person Rally for Abortion Access near the Planned Parenthood Vandalia Health Center or by showing your support for the day of action online by posting about and advocating for access to sexual and reproductive health care.

Here are 8 ways you can fight back now.

1. Join an upcoming event

In this critical moment, we are coming together to raise our voices and build solidarity with one another. Together, we will make clear: Minnesotans need abortion access, and we will fight like hell to protect safe, legal abortion in our state.

2. Urge your legislators to pass the PRO Act

Passing the Protect Reproductive Options (PRO) Act will help to ensure that all Minnesotans have the right to make their own reproductive health care decisions. Pledge to support the PRO Act and encourage your friends to do the same.

3. Sign up for email alerts

Join our email network to receive email alerts on the latest news about reproductive rights in Minnesota, upcoming events, and action items as we fight to protect sexual and reproductive health care in Minnesota.

7. Donate

Planned Parenthood health centers are open, and they continue to deliver essential sexual and reproductive health care in Minnesota.  Give today to support the organizing and advocacy needed to protect this care.

Our Justice is an abortion assistance fund committed to ensuring that all people and communities have the power and resources to make sexual and reproductive health decisions with self-determination. You can advance sexual and reproductive choice as a human right. Give today.

8. Make an appointment

You can show your support by making your next reproductive health care appointment at Planned Parenthood and encouraging your friends to do the same.
