This week, we're saying “thank you” to the compassionate and skilled nurses who work every day to keep the women, men, and young people in their communities healthy, and to ensure they have access to the full range of reproductive health care options, including cancer screenings, birth control, testing and treatment for STDs, and medically-accurate sexual health information. Join us in celebrating the remarkable dedication of Planned Parenthood nurses this week and all year long!
Erika S., Nurse at Planned Parenthood in St. Paul, recently told us:
“I have so many patients who come in and say, ‘I have a really weird question.’ And I just smile and say, ‘You know what, you’re going to have to try really hard to ask me a weird question. I can almost guarantee that another woman has asked me that question already--if not today, then within the last week.'
I often will say to my patients, ‘I’m on call. If you have a question or if you’re worried about something, just call. It takes five minutes for me to go over something or answer a simple question, and then you don’t have to worry anymore.’”
