The last year has shown us that our health and wellbeing can change in an instant with a shift in political winds. While we celebrate victories at the federal level, we are keenly aware that a conservative majority sits on the Supreme Court. Now is not the time to sit back.

There are 17 cases one step away from the Supreme Court that can erode or overturn Roe v. Wade—17. That’s why Minnesota is stepping up to protect sexual and reproductive health care now.

Just today, Rep. Kelly Morrison introduced the Protect Reproductive Options Act (PRO Act) in the Minnesota House and Senate. The PRO Act ensures that all Minnesotans have the right to make their own reproductive health care decisions, by:

  • Establishing the fundamental right of Minnesotans to make individual decisions about reproductive health care, including contraception, abortion, and pregnancy.
  • Preventing politicians from interfering with a person’s fundamental right to make their own reproductive health care decisions.

We know that every day, people across our country face the deeply personal decision of whether to continue their pregnancy. Every pregnancy and every person’s circumstances are different. Health care decisions should be made by a patient and their doctor, not politicians.

We cannot wait to protect reproductive health care at the state level. Passing the PRO Act ensures that abortion remains safe and legal in Minnesota if Roe v Wade were overturned or eroded. Contact your legislators now and tell them to protect Minnesotans’ reproductive freedom.
