The following is a statement from Sarah Stoesz, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) on President Trump’s recent reported comments during a policy discussion about immigration.

As we prepare to honor the legacy of our hero, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, we once again find ourselves faced with expressions of racism by our current president. Donald Trump’s daily behavior is outrageous, and we must not accept it as normal, and or dampen our reactions to it. His statements yesterday were even more deplorable than we’re accustomed to from him, and we must all speak out in our opposition.”

“The normalizing of racism and hatred is dangerous and intolerable; we must never allow it. Planned Parenthood condemns what he said and what he stands for in the strongest possible terms. Donald Trump’s beliefs and actions are despicable, and we will not let them stand unchallenged.”
