It’s National Nurses Week so we’d like to take a moment to highlight our compassionate and skilled providers. Sonja (APRN, CNP), the Clinical Practice Leader for Centralized Services, shared some of her experiences working in this moment.
Our values guide us—this does not change during a pandemic—and there are many ways we can advocate for these values during these times. We hope you will take a moment to act from anywhere today.
The 2020 Minnesota Legislative Session has started — and with the entire Minnesota House and Minnesota Senate on the ballot in 2020, the stakes for this session are high.
As we begin the 2020 Session, Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota Action Fund is again working to make sure that Minnesotans have access to the sexual and reproductive health care they need.
Expertly designed pieces will be showcased on the Ready or Hot runway, modeled by community changemakers of all shapes, sizes, and genders. The February 20 event celebrates people, honors diversity, destigmatizes conversations about safer sex, and supports the vital work of Planned Parenthood.
Fear is keeping many immigrants from seeking the health care they need. All people—regardless of immigration status—deserve access to health care, to stay with their families, and to live a life of dignity. No matter what. We condemn the Trump-Pence administration’s deportation raids and hateful rhetoric. We stand with immigrants and refugees.
Jason Lewis has consistently shown that he does not deserve to represent the people of Minnesota.
Minnesota Leaders Denounce Trump-Pence Administration's Title X Gag Rule and Its Harm to Public Health
The Trump-Pence administration has forced Planned Parenthood out of Title X, the longstanding federal program for birth control and reproductive health care for low-income Americans. Minnesota leaders this week joined others across the country in voicing opposition to the Title X gag rule.
By enforcing this dangerous rule, President Trump will block millions of Americans from the affordable health care they seek at Planned Parenthood health centers. This includes 53,000 Minnesotans who rely on Title X funding for care at Planned Parenthood and associated clinics in all corners of the state. The gag rule will especially impact people in Greater Minnesota, where there are fewer providers and less access to basic care.
Planned Parenthood will do everything we can to ensure our patients can still get the expert reproductive health care they need in Minnesota. Thanks to the broad public support Planned Parenthood has, our doors are open today, and they will remain open tomorrow. But, make no mistake—this situation is a sober reminder of why we desperately need a change in leadership in the White House and why it is more important than ever for Congress and state elected officials to stand up and protect affordable birth control.
