Pawlenty-Fischbach Ticket Would Set Minnesota Women Back Decades

A Pawlenty-Fischbach administration would turn the clock back decades on women’s health and severely limit women’s access to cancer screenings and contraception. This ticket would impede the progress we’ve made on lowering rates of unintended pregnancy, teen pregnancy and abortion.

What Minnesotans Should Know About Trump’s Dangerous Title X Gag Rule

Everyone, regardless of their race, of their income, or where they live, deserves the best medical care and information available. Under this rule, they won’t get it. Here in Minnesota, 53,000 patients across 31 locations – including 51,000 Planned Parenthood patients – rely on Title X-funded clinics for life-saving health care, cancer screening, birth control, and STI testing. Title X funding is a major part of our public health infrastructure that provides Minnesotans with the birth control and reproductive health services they need.

We commend Governor Dayton for vetoing SF 2849, which is completely unnecessary since women already have the option to view an ultrasound prior to an abortion. Governor Dayton showed once again that he believes patients deserve their physicians’ best medical judgment and counsel, not unnecessary mandates dictated by politicians. This veto is yet another example of Governor Dayton’s leadership, putting the health and rights of all Minnesotans before politics.

Election 2018: Elections matter.

When it comes to protecting access to safe, legal abortion as well as birth control and life-saving medical exams for women, time and again we have learned a singular truth: elections matter. Since the Trump Administration took hold of Washington, we’ve been working tirelessly to defeat attacks against our health, rights, and communities. The 2018 election is only six months away—now is the time to hold politicians accountable and elect leaders who will fight with us.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund Denounces Minnesota Republican Leadership for Ignoring Birth Control Access

“The legislature should focus on priorities that improve our state’s health, like making sure Minnesotans have affordable contraception, not on bills that undermine the patient-doctor relationship.”

Get on the #BirthControlBus

The #BirthControlBus is more than just a resource to let people know where they can go to receive expert contraceptive advice, it is also a way to get people fired up about Planned Parenthood and the importance of high-quality reproductive and sexual health care.
