Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund PAC Endorses Sen. Dan Feltes for Governor

For Immediate Release: Sept. 17, 2020

CONCORD - The Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund PAC announced today that it has endorsed Sen. Dan Feltes for Governor of New Hampshire because of his long track record of working to expand and protect access to reproductive and sexual health care in the Granite State.

Sen. Feltes, the Democratic nominee for Governor of New Hampshire, has consistently prioritized the health and safety of Granite Staters in the New Hampshire Senate and can be trusted to continue advocating for expanding and protecting access to reproductive rights as governor.

PPNHAF PAC’s endorsement comes as reproductive health care is under siege in New Hampshire and nationwide. Just this year, five bills were introduced to restrict or outright ban abortion in New Hampshire. While these bills were defeated, the next round of attacks are always just around the corner.

Statement from Skip Small, PPNHAF PAC Advisory Board Chair

“Sen. Dan Feltes understands how much is at stake for reproductive rights in the Granite State and, both as a Senator and a candidate for Governor, has consistently fought to protect Granite Staters from attacks on these rights and advocated to expand access to the spectrum of reproductive and sexual health care services Planned Parenthood patients rely on. That’s why Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund PAC is proud to endorse Sen. Dan Feltes for New Hampshire Governor. We look forward to him campaigning on the importance of this critical issue in the General Election.”

Sen. Feltes played a critical role in advocating for the backfill family planning funds that were incorporated in the current state budget to protect New Hampshire patients from the Trump administration’s Title X gag rule. Sen. Feltes also advocated and voted for legislation to expand access to reproductive health care, including:

  • The Reproductive Health Parity Act, which would require ACA and commercial insurers to cover abortion care.

  • SB 421, a law that ensures a no-cost insurance co-pay for contraception and requires insurance to allow for a 12-month supply of birth control in one dispensing period.

He has also been a consistent opponent to bills that seek to restrict or ban access to abortion, including extreme so-called “born alive” legislation pushed this year in the Senate.

Earlier this year Gov. Chris Sununu vetoed the Reproductive Health Parity Act, which would have helped to ensure equity in abortion care access for Granite Staters.
