PPNHAF PAC Supports Molly Kelly for NH Governor

NH State Primary - Tuesday, September 11

General Election - Tuesday, November 6

The Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund (PPNHAF) PAC has proudly endorsed Molly Kelly in the race for New Hampshire Governor. Our country and state are facing threats to reproductive health like never before, and PPNHAF PAC believes that Molly Kelly is a proven champion of reproductive health who will always stand up for Planned Parenthood and access to safe, legal abortion.

“Molly Kelly has a long history of advocating for reproductive health care and standing up for Planned Parenthood in NH. Her desire to champion women’s rights is what drove her to run for the state senate in 2006, and she was an unwavering advocate during her time in the state senate. Her statements, votes, and actions make it clear she will always fight to protect and expand access to safe, legal abortion and the essential health services Planned Parenthood provides - no matter what.” Sabrina Dunlap, VP of Public Policy for Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund.

Molly Kelly has a strong and proactive record of voting to protect health care access for the women, men, and young people of New Hampshire during her time in the state senate, and her deep understanding of the issues and familiarity with the threats and opportunities facing women’s health set her apart in the race for Governor. As state senator, Molly Kelly stood up against a number of bills dangerous to reproductive health, including the defunding of Planned Parenthood, abortion bans, and 24 hour waiting periods for abortion care. She also fought to advance and protect health care access for low income women through the New Hampshire Medicaid Expansion programs, family planning programs in the state budgets, and for LGBTQ rights - including the historic marriage equality vote in 2009.

In the face of unprecedented attacks on reproductive health, our next Governor must be a proven and committed advocate for women’s health care. This past spring, the Trump Administration proposed changes to the Title X family planning program that would essentially dismantle the program and cut Planned Parenthood out of participation. Molly Kelly has pledged to work with the state to ensure funding is protected and that access to care is not at risk for the 18,000 Granite Staters who rely on Title X for health care. In addition, with the announcement of Anthony Kennedy’s retirement from the U.S. Supreme Court, Roe v. Wade, LGBTQ rights, and the Affordable Care Act all face unprecedented threats. Molly Kelly will work to protect our rights at a state level, even while they are under attack at the federal level.

“Planned Parenthood is on the front lines for women in New Hampshire and across our country to make sure all have access to the preventive and reproductive health care they need – from cancer screenings to LGBTQ services to reproductive health care. I share their commitment and I’m proud and honored to have their endorsement,” said Molly Kelly, candidate for Governor. “In these times of unprecedented attacks on reproductive health and Planned Parenthood, women in New Hampshire can count on me as Governor to protect their health care and reproductive rights, and ensure access to safe, legal abortion.”
