Planned Parenthood is known for three things: quality health care, comprehensive sex education, and relentless advocacy efforts.

In North Dakota, we are hoping to become known for one of our fun, empowering, educational events: our Sex Ed Trivia and Repro Rights ResisDANCE! This year’s event was held at the Aquarium in downtown Fargo.

Sex Ed Trivia kicked off the night at 8:30pm. Teams of about five people came up with some pretty interesting team names and answered three rounds of questions, such as “How do penises in humans differ from those of other mammals?” or “What is the most effective, reversible form of birth control?”

After a few tie breaker rounds, we finally had our three winning teams. Each team received a “trophy” to proudly display, as well as a picture with our fabulous host for the evening – local drag queen, Kelly Coxsyn. Kelly also gave out an award for “best team name” to team *Eggplant Emoji, Peach Emoji* - although, there were quite a few clever team names.

After trivia came the Repro Rights ResisDANCE, which gave our amazing community an opportunity to let loose and celebrate the victories we have had on both local and national levels. Kelly gave out awards for “best dressed” and “best dancer” during the dance. Education and Outreach Specialist Zach Packineau addressed the crowd as well.

Throughout the evening, people were able to grab Planned Parenthood swag and information, and talk to volunteers about opportunities in Fargo/Moorhead.

We would like to thank The Aquarium, including Diane Miller (promoter), Josie Gerezek (assistant promoter), and all of the wonderful bartenders and bouncers. We would also like to thank Kelly Coxsyn for always being a funny and fabulous host.

We couldn’t do what we do without help from YOU.
