Happy one year Anniversary of the Women’s March! Last year’s marches were massively successful here in North Dakota and around the globe. The Women’s March sparked an energy that continues to this day, from defeating Trumpcare to unexpected electoral wins to #MeToo to TimesUp to historic numbers of women running for office.
The actions by the Trump-Pence administration have created a backlash, and are sparking a movement. In 2018, this movement will only grow stronger. 2018 will be a pivotal year for women's health and women's rights; and women will be a potent political force fighting for the world we want.
Join a march in North Dakota!
In Bismarck on Friday, January 19, 2018 is the Bismarck Women’s Rally hosted by the North Dakota Women’s Network, held at the United Tribes Technical College Gym from 7 until 9 p.m.
In Fargo on Saturday, January 20, 2018 is the 2018 FM Women’s March: A step Beyond the March hosted by Indivisible Fargo-Moorhead at the Civic Center from 1 until 2 p.m. Find news and updates on their website.
In Grand Forks on Saturday, January 20, 2018 is the “Raise Your Vote: The Women’s March Goes On” event hosted by the ERA, a local civics group, at the Empire Arts Center from 10 until11:30 a.m.
Donald Trump and Mike Pence have spent the last year pushing laws and policies to control our bodies, take away our rights, and block access to health care. No wonder we are seeing the rise of the largest grassroots movement in a generation. Every time they attack, women stand stronger.
And we will not stop until every woman, individual, person of color, immigrant, LGBTQ person. and others being targeted by the Trump-Pence administration can control their body and their life.
