Call Your Senators to #StopTheBans!
The Missouri Legislature is considering some of the most extreme abortion bills in the country, and we urgently need your help. Both House Bill 126 and Senate Bill 279 would ban abortion as early as six weeks — before most people ever know they are pregnant.
The Senate can bring these bills up for a vote any day, so now is the time to tell politicians to #StopTheBans! Call your senator now!
Wednesday Day of Action!
Join the #StopTheBans Coalition for a Day of Action this Wednesday! Missourians from across the state will raise our voices together and tell lawmakers to #StopTheBans and protect safe, legal abortion.
Plan to meet us in the Capitol at 10:00 a.m. or join a carpool from Columbia, Kansas City, Springfield or St. Louis. RSVP today!
Act Now to Protect Missourians’ Care
Missouri lawmakers have until Friday to pass a budget for the next fiscal year. Right now, two of the budget bills aim to “defund” Planned Parenthood by blocking Missourians from vital preventive care, like birth control, cancer screenings, and STI testing and treatment. Both bills will require another vote in the House and Senate — tell your electeds to vote NO on any measure that “defunds” Planned Parenthood.
Let's be clear: “Defunding” is discrimination. “Defunding” singles out patients who rely on public health care programs like Medicaid and blocks them from getting preventive care at Planned Parenthood health centers. Tell your state senator and representative to protect all patients and oppose any measure that “defunds” Planned Parenthood!
Defend the Win: Protect Clean Missouri's Fair Redistricting Reforms!
In November, Missourians voted overwhelmingly for democracy reform by passing Amendment 1 with more than 60% of the vote. But lawmakers are already planning to overturn it and undo the will of the voters.
Today, the Missouri House voted to pass HJR 48, a measure that would undo Amendment 1’s fair redistricting process.
Now, it goes to the Senate. Take action and urge your state senator to respect voters and protect Amendment 1!
Planned Parenthood Advocates in Southeast Missouri!
We are thrilled to welcome Aaron Lerma to the Advocates team as our first Southeast Missouri Grassroots Organizer!
Aaron hit the ground running at Cape Girardeau’s first-ever Pridefest this past weekend, organizing volunteers to gather more than 180 “I Stand with Planned Parenthood” petition signatures. Volunteers also handed out Planned Parenthood swag, safer sex kits, and information about Planned Parenthood’s health care services. We are excited to see the great work Aaron will do building relationships with Planned Parenthood supporters in Southeast Missouri.
