We are pleased to present our jurors:

Ingrid Schaffner is an American curator, art critic, writer, and educator, specializing in contemporary art. Known for the breadth of her art historical knowledge and her exceptional collaborations with artists such as Richard Artschwager, Barry LeVa, Karen Kilimnik, Maira Kalman, and Anne Tyng, Schaffner’s work often coalesces around themes of archiving and collecting, photography, feminism, and alternate modernisms—especially Surrealism. Schaffner was curator of the 2018 Carnegie International at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh.

Duane Binion (Naheen) is Co-Executive Director of True T Pgh, a community platform for LGBTQ resource sharing, queer arts, activism, and entertainment. Since 2012 True T Pgh’s Annual Galaxy Ball series has invested more than $50,000 back into Pittsburgh’s thriving underground ballroom scene where socialization takes place and culture is exchanged.

Binion participated in the Pittsburgh Public Allies program, a youth leadership development program, from 2013 to 2014. The program placed him at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater where, upon graduating, he worked full-time in various roles, including senior producer, programming assistant, communications specialist, and event staff.

Sarah Huny Young is a creative director, visual artist, photographer, event curator, and DJ. She was born in Denver and grew up in New York City. Huny previously served senior and director tenures at BET/Viacomand VIBE Magazine before moving to Pittsburgh to form start-up agency Supreme Clientele.

More recently, Huny has served as Director of Marketing & Communications at Pittsburgh Filmmakers / Center for the Arts, a non-profit arts organization, and has contributed to Pittsburgh City Paper as a freelance photographer. Her event collective, “Darkness is Spreading” is currently in residence at Ace Hotel Pittsburgh.

Richard Parsakian is owner of Eons vintage clothing store in Shadyside. He has worked with PrideFest, the Pittsburgh Glass Center, Dance Alloy, Attack Theatre, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and the Quantum Theatre. Through his involvement with organizations like the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force, Planned Parenthood and the local arts community, he is as well known for his philanthropy as for his excellent fashion sense.

Parsakian's passion for supporting worth causes has driven him to design the atmosphere behind fundraisers and parties, including Attack Theatre’s Dirty Ball and Planned Parenthood’s War on Women Art Show. He serves as a member of Mayor Peduto's LGBTQIA+ Advisory Council.
