Austin, TX – Yesterday, voters across Texas delivered a wave of victories for candidates pledging to protect and expand reproductive rights. The results of these elections are a clear demonstration of the support abortion access and Planned Parenthood has throughout the state.

All Planned Parenthood Texas Votes-endorsed statewide candidates easily secured victory on Tuesday night, with Rochelle Garza, Mike Collier, Janet Dudding, and Jay Kleberg each moving on to the election in November. Two PPTV-endorsed candidates, Jolanda Jones and Venton Jones, also won the Primary Runoff for Texas House.

The following statement can be attributed to Dyana Limon-Mercado, Executive Director at Planned Parenthood Texas Votes:

“Yesterday, we were devastated by the news of yet another mass shooting in Texas. Reproductive freedom includes the freedom to raise our families in safe and healthy communities, and we deserve leaders who will work towards making that a reality for each of us. Today, the slate of Planned Parenthood Texas Votes endorsed candidates represents hope for the future of Texas. Each of them will fight for a Texas where every family has a right to raise their children in safe, healthy communities and every person has the right to decide if and when to become a parent.”
