Vermont Ambassador Program

Have you ever wanted to get involved in activism but didn’t know where to start?

The Vermont Ambassador Program seeks to identify, support, and empower individuals to begin a statewide movement to promote, protect, and advance Planned Parenthood of Northern New England’s mission and services in Vermont.  We invite you to embark on this self-guided activist journey that will provide you clear ways to get active in your community as well as hone your knowledge and skills as an organizer!

Ambassadors serve three important roles:

  1. Become experts on Planned Parenthood, sexual and reproductive health, as well as the issues impacting the state and local community;

  2. Passionately promote Planned Parenthood by providing factual information;

  3. Recruit others to join the movement!

All movements start small; the best movements are made up of many people taking small, coordinated actions.

We all lead busy lives full of many commitments. The Ambassador program is designed to provide manageable actions that you can tailor to your interests and time availability. As you grow with the program, you will learn how to recruit others to help you conduct larger actions with increased impact and reach. That being said, all actions--from hosting a large event to sharing the latest Facebook post---are valuable in our effort to protect and expand access to Planned Parenthood’s services in Vermont.

Though this is an independent program, you are not alone.

PPVTAF staff provide Ambassadors with ongoing guidance, updates, and resources and are available to help when needed.  Ambassadors also make up a statewide network where individuals can connect with one another to share ideas, collaborate on projects, problem solve, as well as celebrate each other’s achievements.

Who can be an Ambassador?

Ambassadors must meet the following requirements:

  1. Live in Vermont;

  2. Working mailing and email address (mobile phone a plus, but not required);

  3. Ability to use computer with internet and social media platforms.

All applicants are screened prior to being accepted into the program
