Reproductive health care is no joke, yet we continue standing up to bullies and protesters every single day. Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado works tirelessly year round to stand up against efforts to restrict abortion care access and birth control, and I am proud to stand with them.
I am proud to support access to reproductive health care, including abortion, because I personally understand the importance of that access. While pregnant, my doctor discovered the baby had a fatal heart defect. Soon after, the baby died. Eventually my body would have expelled it, but while we waited, I continued to bleed. In an effort to protect my own life, I decided with the help of my family and support networks to end the pregnancy via abortion.
In that decision process, I gained a new understanding of how laws that deny access to abortion care could have cost me my life.
Together, we can resist these legislative efforts and the bullies who claim to want to protect women and families. Join me today in support of Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado to help us protect and expand access to health care across our beautiful state.
