Washington, DC – Today, Planned Parenthood Action Fund launched a $2 million digital ad campaign focused on abortion access in 11 House districts across the country. The ads highlight the threat of a national abortion ban, which was introduced by anti-abortion rights lawmakers in both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate last month. According to a memo from the White House Gender Policy Council, passage of a national abortion ban “would create a nationwide health crisis, imperiling the health and lives of women in all 50 states. It would transform the practice of medicine, opening the door to doctors being thrown in jail if they fulfill their duty of care to patients according to their best medical judgment.”

The ads either thank representatives who have already taken a stand to oppose a national abortion ban or call on constituents to tell their congressperson to vote NO on the ban. The ads will run across digital platforms in the following districts: KS-03 (Rep. Sharice Davids), WA-08 (Rep. Kim Schrier), NV-01 (Rep. Dina Titus) , NV-03 (Rep. Susie Lee), NH-01 (Rep. Chris Pappas), CA-22 (Rep. David Valadao), CA-27 (Rep. Mike Garcia), CA-45 (Rep. Michelle Steel), NM-02 (Rep. Yvette Herrell), OH-01 (Rep. Steve Chabot), NC-13 (Rep. Ted Budd).

Statement from Jenny Lawson, vice president of organizing and electoral campaigns at Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

“With Roe v. Wade now overturned, the threat of a national abortion ban has never been more real. Even though anti-abortion rights members of Congress have seen the horrors and dangerous consequences of abortion bans playing out in states across the country, they still made it the focus of their national agenda. They are showing us exactly what their plan has been all along: to pass a nationwide abortion ban that would imperil access in all 50 states. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is grateful to the lawmakers who have already spoken out against this dangerous legislation, and we must let all our representatives know that they do not get to make our most personal health care decisions for us.”

In just the first 100 days since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the federal constitutional right to abortion, 17 states have enacted abortion bans. Out-of-touch state politicians across the country are rushing to ban abortion for even more Americans. One in three American women now live in a state where they no longer have control over their bodies.
