Columbus, OH – Following results from the Ohio primary this evening, Planned Parenthood Action Fund released the following statement:

Statement from Iris Harvey, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio:

“Tonight’s primary leaves clear what’s at stake in November. On one side you have U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, a tireless fighter for women’s health and reproductive rights. Senator Brown’s steadfast commitment to ensuring women have the full range of reproductive health care – including basic care at Planned Parenthood health centers and access to safe, legal abortion – means that more Ohio women can make their own decisions and live their fullest lives.

“In stark contrast is his opponent Jim Renacci, who wants to block patients from Planned Parenthood and restrict abortion access. Ohioans have had 20 restrictions on reproductive health care and abortion signed into law under Governor Kasich, and they’re tired of out of touch politicians making personal health care decisions for them. Come November, we look forward to Senator Sherrod Brown’s re-election.”
