“Pat McCrory supported Donald Trump as he bullied, demeaned, and disrespected women on the campaign trail. He rallied for Trump across the state this summer, including in Wilmington, where Trump made veiled threats against Hillary Clinton. And Pat McCrory stood by Trump after he said that women should be punished for having an abortion. Pat McCrory lied to voters in 2012 when he said he wouldn’t sign additional restrictions on women’s health into law. Voters know empty promises when they hear them. McCrory’s desperate move to try to distance himself from Trump is too little, too late.”
