PLANNED PARENTHOOD VOTES AND PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACTION FUND RELEASE NEW AD DIRECTED BY EMMY-NOMINATED “YELLOWJACKETS” DIRECTOR KARYN KUSAMA AHEAD OF MIDTERMS: Yesterday, Planned Parenthood Votes and Planned Parenthood Action Fund released “Your Voice,” a powerful video to rally and encourage voters to turn out at the polls and take control of their rights. The spot is produced by Girl Culture Films and directed by Karyn Kusama, an Emmy-nominated director best known for her work on the Showtime series “Yellowjackets” and films such as “Jennifer’s Body” and “Destroyer.” This is Kusama’s first-ever commercial spot. Statement from Karyn Kusama:

“It’s important that everyone understands how incredibly high the stakes are in this election. With Roe v Wade now overturned, anti-abortion politicians feel emboldened to control every part of our lives — our bodies, our voices, and our futures. As a filmmaker, it felt necessary for me to illustrate the ways in which the reckless decisions made by out-of-touch politicians will affect mothers, daughters, and families across the country if we don’t show up in force at the ballot box this November. It’s time for us all to take control and vote our voice."

“We Believe That Access to Abortion Is a Basic Human Right”: GQ FEATURES PRO-ABORTION RIGHTS ESSAYS WRITTEN BY MEN: Today, GQ featured essays by prominent male members of the arts and entertainment community, activists, and writers sharing their support for abortion rights as part of the “Roe Project”. Among those featured are Second Gentlemen Douglas Emhoff, Jason Isbell, Michael Imperioli, Saeed Jones, and more.

GQ’s Global Editorial Editor wrote that he hoped by featuring men telling stories about their support for abortion, it would inspire other men to stand up for abortion rights. “The gutting of Roe is a galvanizing moment in American history—and one that urgently requires men to speak up,” the Editors of GQ wrote, “The Roe Project gathers the diverse perspectives of men united in the belief that access to reproductive health care is essential. We hope that by sharing their experiences and their points of view, we can mobilize more men to fight for abortion access.” Read more at GQ.
