Become a GOTV Volunteer Team Leader

If you want to be a GOTV Team Leader, start by joining a GOTV Team Leader Training here. This training will give you everything you need to run an awesome get-out-the-vote team. Anybody can do it!

In the meantime, check out the steps below to get a sense of what you’ll need to do as a leader.

Step-by-step guide for Team Leaders:

  1. Read through the volunteer guide on this page.

  2. Tell 3-5 friends about the get-out-the-vote program and ask them to join you.

  3. Ask your team members to sign up on this page to get a GOTV account.

  4. Walk your team members through the five steps in the volunteer guide. We’ve also put together this one-page handout you can give them that includes all the information they need.

  5. Schedule regular check-ins with your team members to talk them through their conversations and help them make sure their data is entered into the system.

  6. Sign up to host your own Get Out the Vote Event from your own home. Register your event here and we will send you t-shirts, buttons, and stickers (while supplies last). All you need is a couple of friends, our GOTV Party Toolkit, and a computer and we’ll train you up online on how you can get your friends and family out to vote.

Our team will be with you every step of the way. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email us at [email protected]
