Planned Parenthood Action Fund unequivocally leads with the belief that all people should be able to decide if and when to start a family, and make their own decisions about their health, lives, and futures. While we are lucky to live in a reproductive freedom state with protections in place, we must work together to ensure those protections remain.
We are so lucky to work alongside those who believe in this vision, too:
Action Fund volunteer spotlight: Tami (she/her), Riverside County
Of her work with Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest, Tami says: “Planned Parenthood provides health care to our communities. At a time when sexual and reproductive health care is under attack across the United States, it is more important than ever to volunteer.”
Action Fund volunteer spotlight: Catherine (she/her), El Centro
Of her work with Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest, Catherine says: “The best part of volunteering is meeting new people (and seeing old friends) who care about others, who donate their time and talents to see to it that our local Planned Parenthood health center is a safe, welcoming place for people who need services, help, and care. I always meet new people who have the same values I have and who are willing to take some of their time to ensure Planned Parenthood health centers stay open.”
Action Fund volunteer spotlight: Nancy (she/her) in South San Diego
Of her work with Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest, Nancy says: “Volunteering with the Planned Parenthood Action Fund has allowed me to learn about my city, individuals in political office, and the power that I hold as a civilian in changing policy. It has taught me to take action to influence stakeholders within government, to advocate for the implementation of projects and policies that address reproductive justice and human rights issues, and that advocacy is still impactful in other, smaller forms of supporting the community, like attending community events that align with the principles of the Action Fund.”
