As vote counting continues across the nation and we wait for final results, our democracy is functioning as intended. This election took place under unprecedented circumstances, and experts expected delays. People faced daunting situations as they went to cast their votes — and yet they sent their ballots in by mail and showed up early in-person in record numbers. Many voted early by mail this year to protect themselves and others against the threat of COVID-19; many of those votes still need to be counted. PPADMV will continue to fight for our communities; click here for opportunities to get involved.

In the meantime, PPADMV is pleased to congratulate all three of our endorsed candidates for their strong victories: Councilmember Robert White, Councilmember Brooke Pinto, and Councilmember-elect Janeese Lewis George. While votes remain to be counted for the second At-Large seat, the current leader, Christina Henderson, received a 100% rating from PPADMV. We look forward to working with all of our elected officials to expand reproductive health access for our community.
